YOU HAVE NO PLAN FOR IGBOS - EX-CP ADUBA BLASTS BUHARI

A former Delta State Commissioner of Police, Chief Ikechuku Adub (rtd) has lashed President Muhammadu Buhari for allegedly short changing the interest of the easterners region and also betraying its trust after it massively supported him to win the 2015 presidential election.

Aduba, who is now the Senior Special Assistant to Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano on Vigilante matters, said Buhari's action are pure manifestation of his lack of positive interest for the eastern region, insisting that the Igbos are being marginalised by the current Federal Government.

The former police boss spoke in an interview with newsmen, during the Ndi Igbo Cultural Festival 2016 held in Asaba at the weekend. The theme of the national  event was "Igbo Bu Ofu" and it was widely attended by Igbo indigenes across the federation.

"We are being marginalised, let's speak the truth. The President has disappointed us. When we voted for him, we wanted him to be there because we wanted to fight for our interest. But from what he is doing now, he has shown that he is not interested in us. The President has no plan for us and we have to tell him that", Aduba said.

Apparently making a reference to Buhari's lopsided appointments, he wondered if the federal character system recognized by the Nigerian constitution has become an exclusive reserve of the Northern region, boasting that the Igbo nation, like the biblical Jews, will continue to survive all challenges that come its way.

"The way Nigeria is now, there is a federal character system, but is it only for the north?", he quarried, calling on the Igbo nation to remain united and steadfast towards the development and growth of the region.

Aduba observed that the Igbos, according to archeological facts, are friendly and receptive in nature and is naturally endowed with the potentials of bringing wholesome development to any area they find themselves, adding that the industrious traits of his kinsmen have positively imparted on Nigeria.

He called on the younger generation to sustain the cultural values and heritage of the Igbo people, advising that they must be proud to positively showcase the ethnic group wherever they find themselves.
